I had been dreaming (for about 8 years) of teaching young adults a few highly lucrative skills that can allow them to jumpstart a career with enough flexibility to work with other things, while they are still deciding whether or not to get a college degree — and which one it should be.

Yes, it took me 8 years (and a buck load of therapy) to finally get to the point of putting myself out there and sharing (I mean “selling”, I’m not a charity 😅✌🏼) all this knowledge in an accessible way, so that allowance-bound teens are able to invest in their own professional education with relatively quick results.

As a Marketing and Communications graduate, the “wrapping and selling” part was never the issue. The reason I took so long to get started was all about the emotional pressures of being a “public figure,” after so many years working safely hidden behind my home computer. In the era of cancellation culture, it’s fairly easy for just about anyone to feel afraid to say basically anything anywhere online — let alone in a professional Instagram account, where stakes are much higher.

Slowly, I managed to get things done. My first seed launch, my first class, my first product. Shortly after, it seemed necessary to bring other ideas to life to make sure students were getting a more complete and tailored learning experience for a price they could afford. Soon enough, I had a combo of 4 courses: 2 money-making skills and 2 soft skill methods that perfectly complemented each other.

One day, I exported from Hotmart a list of students for administrative purposes (a lot goes on behind the scenes of an online business — as easy and seamless as it may seem, it ain’t). My eyes watered as I noticed the number of lines in the spreadsheet: almost 1,000 students.

That’s when it hit me: that’s more than a full classroom of students. That’s an entire School! Wait… I guess I do own a School.

Think about it: where do you go to learn hard and soft skills to prepare yourself for adult life? For college? For the job market? SCHOOL. And that’s exactly what I was doing in my courses: teaching specific skills, while also covering mindset, market trends, and the foundation for customer prospection approaches.

That realization definitely changed the way I saw and went about my business. It showed me I could favor the big picture and broaden the spectrum of knowledge I could share, especially considering how my (secret) main focus is to help multipotentialites build a multiple, profitable, and fun career of personal and professional fulfilment.

The foundation has been set. Several tools have been recruited to help: e-mail blasts, WhatsApp automations, multisite hosting and so so many new things I needed to learn to simply do better for my students, without disconnecting from my own personal essence. After the logistics were put in place, then came the creative and strategic part of planning an educational universe for such school.

So now you can imagine how my brain has been over the past few weeks: an endless brainstorm of skills and concepts and mindset adjustments I could and should teach, because they tilt the scales in our favor and set us apart from the masses in the job market – i.e., they help us get all the jobs and make all the money. 🤣✌🏼 (Would you possibly care to learn some of that? 👀)

It has definitely been a transformative process for me, and something tells me the transformation is far from over. I’m incredibly excited for what’s to come (whatever it may be, I’m sure it’s going to be amazing, as it has been so far).

There’s still one last thing to be decided, though. And now comes the fun part: a name. A name for such a young and disruptive institution. I guess it’s safe to assume it’s going to have something to do with Unicorns… 🦄✨ (if you didn’t catch that reference, check out my latest post on Instagram — in Portuguese).

Now, for your part in all of this (and feel free to comment in Portuguese or English, whichever you prefer): what does “the ideal Career School” look like to you? What would you like to learn to boost your career? And what kind of knowledge has been game-changing for you so far in your career?

Thank you for reading about my journey and I hope to be telling you a lot more soon! Make sure to follow me on Instagram to see what I’m up to, as I uncover all that my Career School can become.
